Trooper Struck, Dragged By Vehicle During Disturbance In Ellington
A New Britain woman was arrested Sunday in connection with a disturbance in Ellington, then striking a trooper and a vehicle with her car.

ELLINGTON, CT — A woman suspected of smashing windows out of several vehicles with a tire iron during a disturbance early Sunday morning fled from police, striking and briefly dragging a state trooper with her car and backing into a patrol vehicle before leaving at a high rate of speed. She was later taken into custody at her home in New Britain, police said.
Veronica Allen, 26, is accused of traveling to a home on Cindy Road in Ellington around 4:20 a.m. and smashing the windows. She did not comply with verbal directives issued by troopers and fled in a black Honda Civic, with the passenger side door open. The door struck a trooper, who was knocked to the ground and dragged a short distance. Allen then backed the car into a patrol vehicle, causing minor damage to the driver's side, before fleeing, police said.
The trooper was treated for minor injuries at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford and released, police said.
