Vehicle Thefts Reported in Ellington
The keys were left inside the vehicles, state police said.

ELLINGTON, CT - Three vehicles were stolen from town earlier this week, state police said on Thursday.
The Ellington Resident Troopers Office was notified about the thefts on Monday. They took place in driveways on Abbott Road, Standish Road and Field Drive, state police said.
During the course of the investigation it was determined that the keys were left inside the vehicles, state police said.

Two of the vehicles were recovered in Hartford and returned to their owners after being processed, state police said.
Similar thefts have been taking place in town over the past six months, state police said. State police said residents need to lock their vehicles, remove the keys, arm burglar alarms, lock their home doors and activate exterior lighting.
