Voters Decide Fate of Ellington Bidding Question

A question about town bidding requirements was on Tuesday's ballot.

ELLIINGTON, CT — A proposal to give town officials more freedom to buy things failed in Tuesday's municipal election.

The proposal wold have upped the ante from $7,500 to $25,000 before a purchase or contract had to be bid.

Town officials said they did not think a recount was in order, but added the town's legal staff is examining the result.
