Injuries Reported After Vehicle Strikes Utility Poles In Ellington

ELLINGTON, CT — A single-vehicle crash has forced the closure of a stretch of Wapping Wood Road Friday afternoon, with utility crews expected to remain on scene for several hours.

According to Connecticut State Police, the incident involved a reported single-car collision that resulted in minor injuries. The crash caused damage to utility infrastructure, bringing down poles and wires and prompting a full road closure.

Wapping Wood Road is closed between Grant Road and the South Windsor town line. Eversource is on scene working to address the damaged equipment and make repairs.

State police said the roadway is expected to remain closed for several hours while utility crews complete their work. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
