Warrant: Burglar Stole Pillow Cases to Carry Out $34K of Loot in Somers

An arrest was made for an August burglary in Somers.

SOMERS, CT — State police have arrested a Springfield man in connection with a residential burglary on Hall Hill Road last month.

Darnell Ross, 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday, held overnight on $50,000 bond and was to appear in court on Wednesday, according to a warrant.

The theft took place on Aug. 17, state police said. He was charged with first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, according to a warrant.

Almost every room in the home was "disturbed" and several rooms were ransacked, state police said.

Ross is accused of taking pillow cases off the beds to carry out the loot. Among the items taken were jewelry, a watch and a "Dumbo" charm, according to a warrant.

The merchandise was worth $34,501, state police said in a warrant.
