Changes Made to Somers, Ellington School Schedules [UPDATED]
Changes has been made to the Somers and Ellington school schedules for Thursday, Oct. 17.
SOMERS, CT — Due to the effects of an overnight storm, all Somers public schools will be closed Thursday, Oct. 17. An announcement was posted on the school system's website, stating:
"All schools and offices will be closed today. Last night's storm has resulted in 63 percent of Somers being without power, 40 road closures, and dangerous traveling conditions due to downed trees, limbs, and wires. We will remain in touch with DPW and provide updates during the day."
Ellington schools are also closed for the day, after originally announcing a delayed opening.
