Project To Begin In Ellington

Windermere Avenue will close to through traffic during daytime construction hours for about 60 days, town officials said.

ELLINGTON, CT — The Windermere Sewer Extension project is scheduled to begin Monday, July 20, and will bring weekday daytime road closures to the area, according to the Town of Ellington.

Windermere Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Lower Butcher Road and Franklin Street in Vernon during construction hours, which are scheduled for 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The project is expected to last about 60 days, town officials said.

Emergency access and local traffic will be permitted during the closure.

The town’s traffic plan describes the work as a sanitary sewer extension project with associated lateral connections on Windermere Avenue. Detour signage is expected to direct drivers through nearby roads including Franklin Street, Windsorville Road and Pinney Street.
