Youth Market Day Encourages Farming And Entrepreneurship Among Youth
The annual Youth Market Day features 13 youth showcasing their products.

The Ellington Farmers Market is set to host its annual Youth Market Day on Saturday, August 3rd, providing a platform for budding farmers and young entrepreneurs. The event will take place from 9 am to noon at Market Park, located at 72 Maple St.
This year’s Youth Market Day will feature 13 young vendors, all under the age of 18, who will showcase and sell products they have grown or made with minimal adult assistance. From fresh produce to handmade crafts, these young entrepreneurs are eager to share their talents and hard work with the community.
Youth Market Day aims to encourage farming and entrepreneurship among the youth in Ellington and the surrounding areas. By participating in the market, these young individuals gain valuable experience in running a small business, from production and marketing to sales and customer service.
Local musician Bill Benson will provide live music to add to the festive atmosphere, creating an enjoyable shopping experience for all attendees.
In support of the community, the market will also double SNAP and FMNP benefits for low-income seniors and WIC recipients, ensuring that fresh, locally-grown produce and handmade goods are accessible to everyone.
Support the next generation of farmers and entrepreneurs at the Ellington Farmers Market’s Youth Market Day on August 3rd. Enjoy a morning of shopping, music, and community spirit while encouraging the young talent in our area.
