3 Juveniles In Stolen SUV Stopped By Enfield Police Spike Strips
The three suspects from New Haven were taken into custody around 2 a.m. Wednesday, according to police.

ENFIELD, CT — Three juveniles from New Haven were taken into custody after fleeing from police in a stolen sport utility vehicle early Wednesday morning, which was eventually stopped due to the use of spike strips.
Around 2 a.m., an officer saw a Toyota RAV4 exiting the Gale Toyota dealership on Palomba Drive without any headlights. A check of the vehicle's registration showed it was stolen out of Hamden, Chief Alaric Fox said.
Before trying to stop the vehicle, the officer radioed his position to fellow officers who set up in positions to "spike strip" the vehicle if it fled. The SUV did not stop when signaled and was successfully spike stripped by an officer on South Road by Beech Road. The vehicle eventually came to a stop on a front lawn around Route 5 and Post Office Road, Fox said.

All three occupants fled on foot, running southwest into a wooded area. One was quickly apprehended and a perimeter was established, resulting in the apprehension of a second suspect. A Massachusetts State Police canine team was called to assist, resulting in the capture of the third suspect, Fox said.
"Orders of detention" are being sought for all three suspects, Fox said. Their names have not been released due to their ages.
