5 Things In Enfield: School Vote, Housing Plans, Parade

A school referendum, plans for senior apartments and a Veterans Day parade lead Enfield's week of Nov. 2–8.

ENFIELD, CT — A $511 million school construction proposal goes before Enfield voters Tuesday, while plans for senior apartments and a Veterans Day parade round out a busy week.

Here are five things to know for the week of Nov. 2–8:

1. School Construction And Charter Questions Go To Voters

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3. The town’s explanation of the ballot questions describes a $511 million proposal for four new elementary schools and conversion of Eli Whitney Elementary into Eagle Academy. It authorizes up to $89 million in town borrowing; the town estimates about 83 percent state reimbursement. That reimbursement is an estimate. A separate question asks voters to approve charter revisions that would take effect Dec. 4. Check the town’s election information for voting details.
