ENFIELD, CT — A 6-vehicle crash on the southbound side of Interstate 91 in Enfield, just south of Exit 47E, briefly closed that side of the highway Thursday morning, and reduced travel to just one lane in that direction for nearly an hour and a half.

The crash was reported at 9:03 a.m., with police radio transmissions indicating flooding was a likely factor. Some minor injuries were reported, but no entrapment.

The left and center lanes of the highway were shut down as police investigated and the vehicles were removed. Southbound traffic was backed up well past Exit 48.
