Alert Citizen Helps Snare Enfield Fugitive

He recognized a woman wanted on several warrants from seeing her picture a day earlier in a Patch story shared on an Enfield Facebook page.

ENFIELD, CT — A local woman who had been recently featured in a collaborative "Most Wanted" story series between Patch Media and the Enfield Police Department was arrested Wednesday night after an alert citizen recognized her as she ate in a Route 5 Dunkin' Donuts shop.

Heidi Mayhew, 40, of 11 Windsor Court, was charged with first-degree failure to appear and two counts of second-degree failure to appear. Bond was set at $12,500.

According to a 911 call, the citizen recognized Mayhew from having seen her photo the day before, which was published on Enfield Patch. While on the phone with the dispatcher, the citizen called up the story on a cell phone and said it was on "an Enfield Facebook forum."
