📰 News we're reading

• Multiple Towns Invited To Bicycle Safety Rodeo In Enfield This Weekend (patch.com) — Families in Enfield can bring their kids to a free bicycle safety rodeo this Saturday behind Enfield Town Hall, where police, firefighters, and Kiwanis volunteers will teach key riding and safety skills. Children from Enfield and nearby towns can try obstacle courses, get helmet fittings, decorate and wash bikes, and even enter a raffle for donated bicycles and helmets.

• Trio Charged After Enfield Police Chase, Crash On Saturday: CSP (patch.com) — Enfield police and state troopers pursued a reportedly stolen car that fled town early Saturday, ending in a crash on I-91 and the arrest of three Massachusetts men. Officers recovered an AR-15-style rifle and ammunition, and the suspects now face multiple firearms and motor vehicle charges, while a fourth person who ran from the scene remains at large.

• Judicial Succession (westfaironline.com) — Families in Enfield are served by the Hartford Regional Children’s Probate Court, which has just named East Hartford Judge Richard P. Gentile as its new administrative judge. Operating from East Hartford’s Community Center, the court connects guardians and caregivers with local services like social support, youth programs, and health referrals. Gentile says he aims to keep hearings child-focused, supportive, and less confrontational for all 30-plus towns in the district.
