ENFIELD, CT — A vehicle that fled from Massachusetts State Police was later found in Enfield, where police said it struck a cruiser before fleeing again, according to Enfield Police Chief Alaric J. Fox.

Fox said Massachusetts State Police attempted to stop the vehicle in Massachusetts, but the vehicle fled. The pursuit was discontinued at the state line, he said.

Enfield police then began checking the northern side of town for the vehicle. Officers located it near the state line by the Valero gas station, Fox said.

An Enfield officer parked near the vehicle and began to approach it. The driver pulled out and intentionally struck the front push bumper of the Enfield cruiser, causing minor — virtually no — damage, Fox said.

The vehicle then fled, and Enfield officers briefly pursued it. Fox said the pursuit was discontinued shortly afterward in accordance with state law.

The vehicle was later found abandoned and unoccupied in Windsor Locks, according to Fox.

Efforts to identify the occupants of the vehicle are ongoing.
