ENFIELD, CT — A new hot chicken option appears to be headed for one of Enfield’s busiest shopping plazas.
Birdcode is listed as “coming soon” at Brookside Plaza, according to the official property listing for the Hazard Avenue shopping center. The listing places Birdcode in a 2,456-square-foot outparcel space at the plaza.
An opening date was not listed. Town-posted Planning and Zoning materials for a Birdcode application did not appear to be available online as of Monday afternoon.
Birdcode serves Southern-style chicken sandwiches, tenders and chicken bites, along with fries, mac and cheese, vinegar slaw, milkshakes, cookies and banana pudding, according to the restaurant’s website. The chain says its chicken is hand-breaded and cooked to order.
Brookside Plaza is located at 10 Hazard Ave., near the I-91 interchange and the intersection of Hazard Avenue and Phoenix Avenue. The shopping center is listed as a 226,107-square-foot property.
The plaza is already home to several major retailers and businesses, including ShopRite, Burlington, L.L. Bean, and TJ Maxx, according to the property listing.
The listing also shows two available or soon-to-be-available spaces at the plaza, along with Birdcode marked separately as coming soon.
