ENFIELD, CT — Residents near the Enfield Armory may notice increased military and law enforcement activity Friday as the Connecticut Army National Guard conducts a full-scale training exercise with the Enfield Police Department.

The exercise is scheduled to run from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the armory in the area of King Street and Mullen Road, according to the Connecticut National Guard.

The Guard described the drill as “visually realistic” and said it is part of routine readiness training intended to strengthen coordination between Guard personnel and local law enforcement.

Residents in the area may see uniformed personnel, emergency vehicles and simulated emergency responses, or hear simulated weapon fire in the surrounding area, according to the Guard.

Officials said there is no threat to public safety and no action is required by Enfield residents.

Questions may be directed to the Connecticut National Guard Office of Public Affairs at 860-524-4857 or 860-883-5336.
