ENFIELD, CT — Days after firefighters responded to a house fire on Prior Road, the Enfield High School music community is rallying to help the family of two students affected by the blaze.

The Enfield High School Music Department and community partners are organizing the “Enfield Summer Pops Benefit Concert” at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 18, in the Enfield High School auditorium.

The concert is free and open to the public, but organizers are asking attendees to consider making a donation. According to the event flyer, 100 percent of all donations will go directly to the family, and cash donations will be accepted at the event.

Professional Firefighters of Enfield Local 3059 said crews responded at about 7:50 p.m. June 7 to Prior Road for a reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived, searched the home, and knocked down the blaze, according to the union.

The benefit concert flyer says the fire destroyed the home of two students involved in the Enfield High School music program, resulting in the loss of their belongings and deeply affecting their family.

“Out of respect for the family’s privacy, we will not be sharing additional details,” organizers wrote on the flyer.

Organizers said the concert is meant to give the community a way to support the family as they begin recovering and rebuilding.

“Music has the power to heal,” the flyer says. “Together, we can help this family rebuild.”
