ENFIELD, CT — A traffic stop on Interstate 91 in Enfield led to the seizure of more than a half-kilogram of cocaine and the arrest of a driver, according to the Enfield Police Department.

During the stop, officers said they suspected there were drugs in the vehicle. K9 Dunkin was brought in and alerted police to the odor of narcotics, according to the department.

Police then searched the vehicle and found 515 grams of cocaine, the department said.

The driver, Iden Moreno-Rivera, 30, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to sell a controlled substance, operation of a drug factory, following too closely and failure to wear a seat belt, according to police.

As part of the investigation, the DEA Springfield office later executed a search-and-seizure warrant at a location in Springfield, where more than 50 grams of fentanyl were recovered, police said.

Moreno-Rivera was arraigned on June 16 and was being held in custody on a $250,000 bond, according to police.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
