ENFIELD, CT — DORO Marketplace is seeking town approval to open a new cafe and bakery restaurant in Enfield, according to application materials filed with the town.
The proposed location would be at 98 Elm St., inside an existing commercial building that is also partially occupied by Zen Leaf. If approved, the Enfield restaurant would become the growing Connecticut chain’s seventh location.
Plans call for DORO Marketplace to occupy two adjoining tenant spaces totaling about 4,062 square feet. The space is currently a vacant shell and would be built out with a commercial kitchen, cafe and bakery area, and indoor seating for 76 customers, according to the application.
The proposal also includes an 824-square-foot outdoor patio with seating for 38 additional customers. Plans list a maximum occupancy of 145 people, including indoor and outdoor seating.
DORO Marketplace currently has locations in West Hartford, Windsor Locks, Wethersfield, Old Saybrook, Plainville and Avon, according to the project narrative submitted to the town.
The application does not call for major changes to the storefront. Exterior work would be limited mainly to repainting a green facade wall to match the rest of the building, along with new signage and lighting, which would require separate permits.
The property is owned by Elm Street Enfield LLC, according to application materials.
The proposal is before the Enfield Planning and Zoning Commission as a tenant fit-out and site plan application.
DORO Marketplace describes itself as a cafe and bakery offering breakfast, lunch, pastries, coffee and other menu items.
