• Enfield Panel Backs Cutting Blight Fine (patch.com) — Enfield's Blight Review Committee has unanimously recommended slashing more than $66,000 in blight fines on a Windsor Street property to $1,000, clearing the way for a potential sale. If the Town Council agrees and the closing happens by Oct. 1, the town will release its liens and drop a foreclosure case, while also advancing plans to add more property-maintenance inspectors.
   

• Enfield Father Of 2 Young Children Fatally Shot: Report (patch.com) — An Enfield man, identified as 34-year-old father Mark Morgan, was fatally shot inside a South Road home while two children slept nearby, and a Somers man is now charged with murder and home invasion. State police say the suspect surrendered at the scene, his bond was set at $1.5 million, and the investigation into the killing remains active.
