Man Sentenced In Bank Robbery Spree That Included Enfield

ENFIELD, CT — A Massachusetts man who robbed an Enfield credit union during a wider crime spree across New England has been sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison, prosecutors announced Tuesday.

Taylor Dziczek, 44, formerly of Chicopee, was sentenced in Hartford to 90 months behind bars, followed by three years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan.

Federal prosecutors said Dziczek robbed American Eagle Credit Union in Enfield on Sept. 20, 2021. It was the second robbery in a spree that stretched from September 2021 through August 2022.

Dziczek committed 14 bank and credit union robberies and attempted another in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont and New Hampshire, according to court records.

Before the robberies, Dziczek typically turned off his cellphone and removed the license plates from his car, prosecutors said. He entered the banks wearing a hooded sweatshirt, surgical mask and baseball cap, then handed tellers notes demanding large bills and claiming he had a gun.

Investigators connected Dziczek to the spree after a May 2022 robbery at People's United Bank in Plainville. During that robbery, prosecutors said Dziczek showed what appeared to be a black firearm and told a teller, "Give me all the money," "I have a gun," and "Don't be a hero."

He discarded paper money wrappers before fleeing. Several months later, FBI agents recovered a drinking straw Dziczek had used at MGM Springfield. DNA found on the straw matched DNA recovered from the discarded wrappers, prosecutors said.

Dziczek has been held since his arrest on Dec. 1, 2022. He pleaded guilty in September 2025 to three counts of bank robbery.

U.S. District Judge Sarala V. Nagala also ordered him to pay $82,567 in restitution.

The Enfield Police Department was among the local, state and federal agencies that investigated the case.
