ENFIELD, CT — Several Enfield roads will be closed Saturday morning for the ninth annual Outrun Addiction 5K.
The following closures will be in effect from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, according to the Enfield Police Department:
Local traffic may be allowed through other barricaded areas, including the section of Moody Road between Park Street and Taylor Road.
Trucks making deliveries to Martin Brower should approach from the east side of Taylor Road. That road will remain open to local traffic only.
Police officers will be stationed throughout the area to direct drivers and assist with detours. Motorists should plan for delays.
The Outrun Addiction 5K will begin at 9 a.m. at the Enfield Educational Annex, 124 North Maple St. The event includes a 5K run or walk and a two-mile walk. Registration and packet pickup will open at 7:30 a.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 10 a.m.
The annual event raises awareness about addiction and recovery.
