ENFIELD, CT — Enfield has set aside $50,000 in consulting funds for a marketing effort aimed at bringing more businesses and investment to its Midtown district.
The amount appears in a Sept. 16 addendum to the town's request for proposals, which answers questions from firms interested in the work.
According to the document, the Tax Increment Financing District Advisory Committee appropriated the money. The committee could spend less or appropriate more, so the allocation does not establish a final contract price.
As Patch reported in August, Enfield wants a marketing firm to develop a new identity and business recruitment campaign centered on Thompsonville and the central business district.
The proposed work includes professional photographs, video, advertising materials, social media content and a separate economic development website featuring available properties and local businesses.
Firms would also develop recruitment materials highlighting Enfield's workforce, demographics and incentives, along with tools to help staff follow inquiries from prospective businesses and developers.
Proposals are due by 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. The town's anticipated schedule calls for an Oct. 23 award, followed by roughly two weeks of contracting and an early November start.
The addendum says no date has been set for completion or a public launch.
The town also clarified that the advertising portion would cover creative materials and a plan for using them. No funding has been identified for ongoing campaign management, which would likely fall to the Office of Economic and Community Development.
The project focuses on the Midtown Enfield Tax Increment Financing District, where a portion of future growth in property-tax revenue can support improvements intended to encourage redevelopment.
