ENFIELD, CT — Two new firefighters marked the start of their Enfield careers this week, while four police officers completed academy training and are preparing to return to town for supervised patrol work.
Enfield Fire District No. 1 held a pinning ceremony Thursday, Oct. 1, for firefighters Cameron Paliy and Nicholas Liquori, according to an announcement shared with Patch by Jessica Paturso of the fire district.
The ceremony marked their official start serving Enfield residents.
"We are proud to welcome Cameron and Nicholas to the Enfield Fire District No. 1 family and look forward to watching them grow in their careers," the district said.
The district invited residents to congratulate both firefighters and wish them long, safe and successful careers.

Separately, the Enfield Police Department announced that officers Matthew Crean, Joshua Browne, Brendan Truman and Glini Retana graduated from Session 27 of the New Britain Police Academy.
The four officers will now return to Enfield for a 16-week field training and evaluation program before taking on solo patrol duties, according to the department.
A graduation photo shared by police shows the officers with Chief Alaric Fox, Captain Held and members of the department's field training staff, including program coordinator Sgt. Polverini and training officers Kemp, Casale, Meyers and Shafique.
