• Enfield chase ends with crack cocaine arrest, police say (sheltonherald.com) — Enfield police say a Thursday traffic stop on Hazard Avenue turned into a chase that ended near Enfield Commons Mall, where officers used spike strips and arrested a Windsor Locks driver. Investigators reported finding crack cocaine and other suspected narcotics, and the driver now faces multiple drug and motor vehicle charges after appearing in Hartford Superior Court.
• TikTok love note, DNA helped link Enfield man to $10,000 Motel 6 robbery, warrant says (middletownpress.com) — An Enfield man has been charged in an armed Motel 6 robbery after investigators linked TikTok activity, DNA from a stolen car, and a handgun found at his Enfield home to the July holdup. Police say the clerk was assaulted and more than $10,000 was stolen, and the suspect is due in New Britain Superior Court on October 13.
• Spirit Halloween is bringing 17 vacant Connecticut stores back from the dead (ctpost.com) — Enfield once again lands on Spirit Halloween's short list of most reliable Connecticut locations, with a pop-up returning every fall since at least 2019. The article explains how the chain revives vacant storefronts statewide, what kinds of jobs these seasonal shops create, and why they keep coming back even as former year-round retailers disappear.
