ENFIELD, CT — Enfield's Planning and Zoning Commission takes up the first phase of turning the former MassMutual campus on Bright Meadow Boulevard into apartments, townhouses and shops, and a plan to convert the former Nathan Hale School into 38 apartments for residents 55 and older.

1. First Phase Of Former MassMutual Campus Redevelopment

What to know: The Planning and Zoning Commission will consider 100 Bright Meadow Associates LLC's site plan for the first phase of redeveloping the 65-acre former MassMutual campus at 100 Bright Meadow Blvd., according to the agenda packet. Phase 1 would convert the office building into 178 apartments with 12,000 square feet of restaurant and commercial space, and add a 5,700-square-foot clubhouse with a pool and 62 townhouse units. The overall plan now calls for 180 townhomes, up from 157 in the 2025 master plan approval.

2. Former Nathan Hale School Eyed For 55+ Apartments
When: Thursday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m.
Where: Council Chambers, Town Hall, 820 Enfield St.
What to know: The commission continues a hearing on rezoning 5 Taylor Road, the former Nathan Hale School, from Residential-33 to a Special Design District, and will consider a site plan to convert the school into 38 apartments for residents 55 and older, from studios to one-bedroom townhouses, according to the agenda packet. The applicant is NHR LLC; the owner is Our Town Home Buyers LLC.

3. Old Town Hall Lease To Historical Society
When: Thursday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m.
Where: Council Chambers, Town Hall, 820 Enfield St.
What to know: The commission will review a Town Council referral on a 99-year lease of the Old Town Hall, 1294 Enfield St., to the Enfield Historical Society, according to the agenda. Also on the agenda: the historical society's outdoor fall fundraiser at 1387 Enfield St. and a 40-foot antenna tower at CoxCom Inc.'s property at 5 Niblick Road.

4. DPW Panel Takes Up Leaf Pickup, Pickleball Courts
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 4 p.m.
Where: Enfield Room, Town Hall, 820 Enfield St.
What to know: The Town Council's Public Works subcommittee will discuss fall leaf pickup, sidewalks on Abbe Road, the 2027 road program, pickleball courts at the Annex and Veterans park, the vehicle replacement plan and pump stations, according to the agenda.
