The medical examiner listed an overdose with undetermined intent, NBC Connecticut reported. Police say the investigation remains active.

ENFIELD, CT — A 12-year-old girl found dead in her Enfield home in March died from intoxication involving three medications, but the intent behind the overdose remains undetermined, NBC Connecticut reported Monday.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner identified the cause as acute intoxication from diphenhydramine, fluoxetine and bupropion, known by the brand names Benadryl, Prozac and Wellbutrin, respectively, according to the station.

As Patch previously reported, police, firefighters and emergency medical crews responded to an Elm Street home around 10:25 a.m. March 18 after a 911 caller reported an unresponsive girl. First responders determined she had died at the scene.

Police obtained a warrant to search the home, and Connecticut State Police detectives assisted with the investigation, according to Patch's earlier coverage.

NBC Connecticut previously reported that search warrants released in July disclosed a lethal level of diphenhydramine in the girl's system. The medical examiner's findings reported Monday identify all three medications in the cause of death.
