Boston Seafood Market In Enfield Apparently Goes Out Of Business
About two and a half years after purchasing the business from longtime owner Steve Nikolis, Petros Mirisis has apparently closed its doors.

ENFIELD, CT — The owner of a seafood market at the northern tip of Route 5 in Enfield has apparently closed its doors, about two and a half years after purchasing the business from its founder and longtime owner.
A Google search of Steve's Boston Seafood redirected us to its new name, now known as Boston Seafood By Petros, and indicates the business is "permanently closed." A visit to the site at 57 Enfield Street earlier this week found no signs in the doorway or windows, and there is no indication of closure on the market's website, but repeated attempts by Patch to contact someone at the telephone number provided yielded no answer.

Experienced restaurateur Steve Nikolis founded the market in 1988 in a small strip plaza across from Asnuntuck Community College on Elm Street. Shortly thereafter, he moved into the north end of the Stateline Plaza, in a space which had been occupied for many years by Bonanza Steakhouse. His final move, to the Route 5 spot formerly occupied by College Formals among others, came in 1999.

In late 2020, Petros Mirisis, a Massachusetts restaurateur with 20 years' experience, bought the building and business from Nikolis, who was retiring at age 71. In an interview with Patch shortly after the transaction, Mirisis said he intended to keep the name Steve's Boston Seafood. However, at some point the name "Steve's" was dropped off the sign, and "Boston Seafood by Petros" was added to the door.
The market's Facebook page had been very active, with specials published on a regular basis, but no new entries have been posted since late November.
