Cats, Hamster Found Abandoned At Motel In Enfield

Three abandoned animals are being cared for at Enfield Animal Control, police said.

ENFIELD, CT — Three domestic animals were taken in by local authorities after being abandoned at a local Motel, police said.

The animals were located at the local Motel 6 and police issued details Wednesday.

The animals were identified as a hamster and two cats. The cats were long hair breeds and white and slate gray, respectively. Photos showed them in apparent good health.

Police released them to the care of the local animal control division. Anyone with information on the owners can contact animal control at 860-763-8944.

It was the second abandonment inside a building recently reported by police in north central Connecticut.

Manchester Animal Control unit is looking for two people who abandoned a cat at the Petco store in the Buckland Hills commercial district.

The incident took place at 1:47 p.m. on Feb. 20, animal control officials said. Two people entered the Petco store on Hale Road and let a cat loose inside.

The cat is an "intact male," according to animal control officials.

The incident was captured by surveillance cameras.
