Charles "Chuck" R. Balch, 79; Enfield Resident, US Army Veteran and Roncari Industries Retiree

Charles “Chuck” R. Balch, of Enfield, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was 79.
Born in Hartford on July 21, 1935, Chuck was the son of the late Charles W. and Stashia (Turosky) Balch.

Chuck has been a resident of Enfield for 25 years, and was employed by Roncari Industries in East Granby for 39 years and retired in 1998. He proudly served our country during the Korean War with the United States Army. Chuck was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1525, a lifetime member of the VFW Windsor Locks Post 6123 and the AMVETS. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid lover of animals and nature.
Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Sandra L. (Pinkerton) Balch; his step-children, Michele Canevari and her husband, John of Enfield; and Richard Comptois of California; his grandchildren, Rachel Canevari and John Canevari and his friend, Lauren; his sister Carol Scott of East Windsor and a nephew, Daniel Scott.

Chuck’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Rd., Enfield. The Rite of Committal with Military Honors will be held on Friday, Oct. 10, at noon at Hazardville Cemetery followed by a reception at the Moose Lodge, 124 South Rd., Enfield.
