Crash Closes 2 Lanes Of Interstate 91 In Enfield [UPDATED]
The right and center lanes of the highway were closed shortly after 3:30 a.m. between Exits 48 and 49, according to the DOT.

ENFIELD, CT — A crash involving a car and a large box truck prompted closure of two lanes on the northbound side of Interstate 91 in Enfield early Wednesday morning, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT).
The crash took place around 3:38 a.m. between Exits 48 and 49, approaching the Massachusetts state line. The right and center lanes were closed, the DOT reported.
Two people were trapped in the passenger car, and were extricated in less than 20 minutes. Both were taken to an area hospital, according to firefighters.

Emergency units remained at the scene for several hours dealing with a ruptured saddle tank on the box truck. The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection was called, firefighters reported.
The highway is now fully open.
