Crash Closes I-91 in Enfield

A portion of southbound I-91 should be reopened soon following a motor vehicle accident between exits 49 and 48, according to a report.

State and local police have been on the scene with local fire departments assisting with the accident that was reported about 7:40 p.m. The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported it would take about three hours or so to clear the scene.

An Enfield alert notification advised that I-91 would be closed because of a “serious motor vehicle accident.”

Lifestar was called to the scene but was later canceled, according to The Courant.
