Dispute Over Historic Martha Parsons House Settled

Two entities engaged in litigation over the estate have settled out of court.

A long dispute between two Enfield nonprofit groups concerning the Martha A. Parsons House has been settled, the Journal Inquirer reported.

The battle between the Martha A. Parsons Memorial Trust and the Enfield Historical Society began in 2010, when a lawsuit was filed over control of the estate at 1387 Enfield Street.

Under terms of the settlement, the Martha A. Parsons Memorial Trust will officially be dissolved, and two members of the trust will serve on the board of the Historical Society, the paper said.
