ENFIELD, CT — Elm Plaza has been purchased by discount retail chain Ocean State Job Lot, which will move its existing location at 25 Hazard Avenue into the former Best Buy space, according to a company official.

The 148,334 square-foot Elm Plaza, which includes Kohl's and Chicago Sam's among its tenants, has had a large vacancy in its west end since Best Buy closed its doors in 2021. Ocean State Job Lot will occupy 35,199 square feet in the plaza, compared to 23,042 square feet of space in the Enfield Commons since opening in March 1999.

"We are so pleased to announce the purchase of Elm Plaza and the relocation of our Enfield store," OSJL Director of Store Operations Paul Cox said. "Throughout the pandemic, we have been committed to expanding our footprint and breathing life into dormant properties throughout the Northeast and we look forward to bringing an improved, upgraded shopping experience to the Enfield community later this year."
