Enfield Cops Intercept Car Burglars, Find Gun After Pursuit And Crash
Enfield Police currently have 40-plus car burglary investigations on their hands.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield police Monday said they arrested two people and confiscated a weapon after breaking up an overnight car burglary.
While police were responding to the complaint on Tyler Road during the overnight hours, officers observed a vehicle that matched the description of the getaway car and attempted to stop it on Route 190, according to an incident report.
The vehicle then fled, but officers successfully deployed stop-sticks along its path and they punctured all four tires, according to an incident report.

The vehicle kept going and entered the southbound lanes of Interstate-91 "at excessive speeds," police said.
Enfield officers followed the vehicle "from a safe distance" as it swerved on I-91 and eventually crashed into a concrete barrier at about 2:30 a.m. between Exit 47 and Exit 46, according t0 an incident report.

The three occupants fled on foot and two were located after a search of the area, police said. They have been charged and were in custody Monday morning on cash bonds, police said.
Carlos Morales-Lugo was charged with interfering with a police investigation, possession of a firearm with no permit, possessing weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of a high-capacity magazine.
Morales-Lugo was also arrested for two outstanding warrants and was being held Monday on a total of $225,000 in bonds, police said.
Tajay Hunter was charged with interfering with a police investigation, illegal possession of a firearm, possessing weapons in a motor vehicle and possession of a high-capacity magazine, engaging police in a pursuit, reckless driving, misuse of registration plates, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
Hunter was being held on a $100,000 bond, police said Monday.
An undocumented "ghost gun" and a 30-round magazine were found inside the car, which had registration plates that did not belong on it, police said.
Police said Monday that "upwards of 40" car break-ins are currently being investigated in town.
The car burglaries are still under investigation.
