Enfield Trash Pickup Delayed For Presidents Day Week

There will be no rubbish or recycling pickup on Monday, Feb. 16, and all collections will be delayed by one day for the week.

ENFIELD, CT — Enfield residents will see changes to trash and recycling pickup next week due to the Presidents Day holiday, along with an important deadline for certain barrel tags.

There will be no rubbish and recycling collection on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Presidents Day. All collections will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week of Feb. 18, according to town officials.

The Town Farm Road Transfer Station will also be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, and Tuesday, Feb. 17.

In addition, the town is reminding residents that tipper barrel tags purchased for additional gray and brown barrels since last March will expire at the end of February 2026.

Residents who want continued pickup of additional barrels must purchase new annual tags through the Enfield Public Works office. The new tags will be valid from March 1, 2026 through Feb. 28, 2027.

The cost for the upcoming year is $45 for a yard waste tag and $200 for a trash tag.
