Enfield Election Results 2018: Winners Declared

Enfield voters decided the fate of the town's middle school and re-elected two of three incumbents in the state Senate and House.

ENFIELD, CT — Voters in Enfield turned out in droves Tuesday to decide the future of the town's middle school, to elect a new judge of probate and to choose legislators to represent their interests in the state Senate and House of Representatives.

Unofficial vote totals show a referendum to "rebuild as new" the 50-year-old John F. Kennedy Middle School passed by a margin of 9,675 to 8,050. The $84.37 million project will result in town taxpayers being liable for a maximum of $27 million, with the remainder reimbursable by the state.

Last year, a $95 million referendum for the middle school, with the town on the hook for $35.5 million, was defeated by a margin of 3,763 against to 3,290 in favor.
