Enfield and Fermi Hall of Champions to Be Dedicated

The Hall of Champions will honor past state and conference championship teams from both high schools.

ENFIELD, CT — A Hall of Champions honoring past title-winning teams from Enfield and Enrico Fermi high schools will be officially dedicated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m.

The Hall of Champions, located in the corridor outside the Enfield High School gymnasium and fitness center, will honor state and conference championship teams, as well as athletes and coaches from each school’s history.

The schools have combined for 14 state championship teams:

  • field hockey (5): 1983, 1984, 1992, 1993, 1994
  • ice hockey (3): 1982, 1983, 1987
  • wrestling (2): 1979, 1984
  • boys basketball (1): 2004

FERMI (3)

All of the state title-winning teams have been inducted into the Enfield Athletic Hall of Fame, with the exception of the 2004 EHS boys basketball team, which is not yet eligible for consideration.

The public is invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
