Enfield High School Announces Valedictorian, Salutatorian

The top two scholars will deliver addresses at the Class of 2016 graduation ceremony.

ENFIELD, CT - Enfield High School has announced its valedictorian and salutatorian of the Class of 2016.

Sarah Pawlowski, daughter of Michael and Diane Pawlowski, has been named the class valedictorian.

A member of the National Honors Society, she has been recognized as a class scholar and has achieved high honors all four years of her high school career. She has received numerous awards including the DAR Good Citizen Award, Enfield Rotary Club High School Recognition Award, Journal Inquirer All Fall Academic Award, CT High School Scholar Athlete Award for 2016, CT Colt Award for Excellence in Spanish, and the Brown Book Award. She is a member of Youth Vote, Community Service Club, National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, Friends of Rachel Club, Friends of Rachel Leadership Team, Prom Committee, and through them she has been involved in many acts of volunteering and community service.

In addition to her many accomplishments in the classroom, Sarah is also a student athlete, being both a member and captain of the varsity tennis and varsity soccer teams.

She will be attending UConn this fall with a major in Molecular and Cell Biology.

Erika Murphy, daughter of Jaime Beebe, has been named the class salutatorian.

A member of the National Honor Society, she has been recognized as a class scholar and has achieved high honors all four years of her high school career. As well as being the secretary of the National Honor Society, she is a captain of the varsity volleyball team, in Rachel’s Challenge Leadership Committee, is finishing EMT classes this June, and also gives back to the community by volunteering with various organizations. Erika has received numerous awards including the CT COLT Award, Herculean Award, Governor’s Semi-Finalist Award, the Yale Book Award, as well as awards for excellence in World History, Geometry, and World Language.

In addition to her academic success, Erika is a student athlete, a member of the varsity volleyball team, and a recipient of the Scholar Athlete Award.

She will be attending UConn this fall, and will major in Nursing.
