Enfield Man Accused Of Brandishing Pistol Near Children: PD

ENFIELD, CT — A local man accused of driving recklessly through a neighborhood while children were trick-or-treating Sunday brandished a Glock 9mm pistol, resulting in his arrest on numerous charges, according to police.

Robert Corey,. 20, of 372 Washington Rd., was charged with criminally negligent storage of a firearm, storage of a firearm in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of a firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity firearm and possession of narcotics. He was held on a $50,000 bond, Chief Alaric Fox said.

Around 8:30 p.m., Corey was driving a silver Saturn on Silver Lane in Enfield, and was confronted by several parents who claimed he nearly hit their children with his vehicle. Following a physical altercation between Corey and one of the parents, Corey brandished a handgun and is reported to have "racked a round" and held the pistol over his head, causing parents and children to run from the scene, Fox said.

Police located Corey and recovered the pistol, loaded with 15 rounds. He was also found to be in possession of cocaine, Fox said.
