Enfield Man Arrested After Emerging Naked from Car

SPRINGFIELD, MA — An Enfield man was arrested in Springfield early Tuesday morning after crashing his car into a curb and emerging from the vehicle naked.

Dereck Dent, 30, was taken into custody around 2:30 a.m. after a patrol officer observed him running through stop signs with the car's lights off, police said.

Dent had several outstanding warrants against him, according to police.

The car struck a curb, causing a tire to go flat, and Dent then emerged from the vehicle naked. He promptly began dancing and jumping in the street, police said.

Dent was transported to a nearby hospital for an evaluation, police said.
