ENFIELD, CT — An Enfield man was arrested Monday on a warrant charging him with paying a Massachusetts woman to have sex with him in September, Police Chief Carl Sferrazza said.

Peter Bertrand, 62, was charged with patronizing a prostitute, and was released after posting $1,000 bond.

When Bertrand awoke the next morning, he realized his car was missing. A few days later, he found the vehicle in Springfield, Sferrazza said.

While being held in a lockup in Chicopee, Mass., the woman told police Bertrand had paid her for sex that night. She claimed when she woke up, she wanted to buy cigarettes, so she took Bertrand's car and got lost coming back, so she drove home to Springfield, Sferrrazza said.
