Enfield Man In Custody On $50,000 Bond In Stafford Store Break-In

STAFFORD, CT — The arrest of an Enfield man represents the second in connection with a break-in at a Stafford liquor establishment last spring, state police said.

Last week, state police served a warrant to Nicholas Provencher, 45, of Enfield, charging him with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny, records show. He remained in custody this week on a $50,000 bond and is due back in Rockville Superior Court on Dec. 4, according to the state judicial system database.

He joins as a defendant in the case Craig Bosley, 41, of Ellington, who was arrested June 3 on a warrant charging him with third-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny, state police said. Bosley remained in custody this week on a $75,000 bond and was to appear in Rockville Superior Court Monday, judicial system records indicate.

The case dates back to April, when a break-in was reported at Ruby's Fine Wines in Stafford, state police said.

According to a warrant, the store's surveillance system showed a vehicle pulling into the store's parking lot. Out jumped a man in dark clothing and bright yellow gloves, who proceeded to kick a glass door while also hitting it it with a bag full of heavy objects, according to a warrant.

The man then squeezed through the hole he created and burglarized the business, according to a warrant. He was eventually joined by another man, according to a warrant.

The front plate was visible, but a towel had been placed over the rear plate, according to a warrant.
Surveillance images led state police to Bosley, according to a warrant.

State police said they later traced involvement in the crime to Provencher. They then secured a warrant out of Rockville Superior Court.
