Enfield Man Dies After Motor Scooter Accident In Suffield

Authorities said the man fell off a motor scooter on the Windsor Locks Canal trail and rolled down an embankment into the water.

SUFFIELD, CT — An Enfield man found floating face down in the Windsor Locks Canal after falling off a motor scooter later died of his injuries, according to Suffield police Chief Richard Brown.

David McIntire, 51, had been riding the scooter on the canal trail and lost control before falling to the pavement and rolling down an embankment into the water, Brown said.

When emergency personnel arrived, bystanders had already removed McIntire from the canal and had begun CPR. He was rushed to Bay State Medical Center in Springfield and succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, Brown said.
