Enfield Man Killed In Route 9 Crash
A truck crashed through the center median and into oncoming traffic, resulting in a fatal collision, according to police.

CROMWELL, CT — A crash involving an SUV and a truck resulted in an Enfield man sustaining a fatal injury on Route 9 in Cromwell Wednesday morning.
The crash took place around 6:43 a.m. about eight-tenths of a mile south of Exit 19, when a southbound truck operated by Charles Guilmette, 61, of Enfield, crossed into the center median, crashed through the median and into the northbound lanes, where it struck a Chevy Traverse operated by Mark Klimchuck, 60, of Middletown, state police said.
Guilmette's truck continued and struck the guardrail on the right shoulder, then came to rest next to a tree, state police said.

Guilmette was pronounced dead at the scene. Klimchuck suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
