Enfield Obituary: Dorothy Africano, 79
Dottie was a former co-owner of Eugene's Restaurant in Enfield from 1977-1990, operating alongside her husband.

Dorothy F. Africano, 79, of Enfield, passed away unexpectedly at home, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018.
Born and raised in Enfield, Dottie was a lifetime resident of Enfield. She graduated from Enfield High School and shared 34 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband Eugene F. Africano who predeceased her (1993).
She was a former co-owner of Eugene’s Restaurant in Enfield from 1977-1990, operating alongside her husband. Following, she was employed as Office Manager for 25 years at Langonet Inc. where she worked for her beloved son-in-law Peter Langone.

Her love in life was that of being a mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her times with her longtime friends playing cards and bingo. Dottie always sat and listened to everyone and enjoyed her conversations. Everyone who knew Dottie knew she was a giving person, always thinking and doing for others. In the community she volunteered her time as a Boy Scout leader, PTA member, and a school volunteer.
She is survived by her children, Lt. Colonel Charles F. Africano and his wife Lana of Alexandria, VA, Karen Massa and her husband Michael of Mountainside, NJ, Arlene Langone and her husband Peter of Suffield, her grandchildren, Nicholas Africano, 2nd Lt. Anthony Africano, Joseph Africano and Nicole Massa. She also leaves a brother, Edward Zawistowski and his wife Tami of East Granby, CT. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Caroline Zukowski.

Family and friends are invited for visitation hours from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2018 at Leete-Stevens. Burial will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Enfield.
Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
