Enfield Obituary: Mary Marshman, 88

Mary (Gionfriddo) Marshman, 88, of Enfield, beloved wife of the late Vernon Marshman, Jr., died Monday, November 21, 2016 at her home.

Mary was born in Dysart, PA, a daughter of the late Paul and Concetta (Munson) Gionfriddo and was a 1947 graduate of Cresson High School in PA. Mary resided in Enfield, previously of Newington for many years and was a member of St. Brigid Church, West Hartford. She was employed by CT Stamping and Bending and then Combustion Engineering for many years. Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening and working in the yard, canning and refinishing furniture.

Mary is survived by her sisters Evelyn Gionfriddo, of Enfield and Marian Glass, of New Britain and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband Vernon, Mary was pre-deceased by her two brothers Angelo and Sebastian Gionfriddo and three sisters Pauline Dumin, Lucy Fanizzie and Jean Russo.

Mary's funeral service will be held Friday, 10:30 a.m. from the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Church, 1088 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Relatives and friends may call Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
