Enfield Police Dispatcher Arrested for Possessing Child Porn

SOMERS, CT — A longtime dispatcher with the Enfeld Police Department is facing a child porn charge after state police raided electronic equipment belonging to him.

Dean Bauer, 63, of 159 Florida Road, Somers, has been charged with third-degree illegal possession of child pornography. He was taken into custody Thursday, state police said.

An arrest warrant indicates state police were tipped off to his activities by someone finding a picture of her face superimposed on another woman's naked body on the social media site Instagram.

State police were led to Bauer's computer and they found child porn on it, according to the arrest warrant.

Bauer spent the overnight period locked up and was due to appear in court on Friday on a $50,000 bond, state police said.
