ENFIELD, CT — A crash on Route 5 near the Massachusetts state early Friday evening involved an Enfield police officer, according to police radio dispatches. The crash occurred around 6:02 p.m. near exit 49, when an Enfield police cruiser operated by Officer Dennis Pelletier was struck from behind by another vehicle, Sgt. James Held said.Pelletier was transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of minor injuries and was released, Held said.The cruiser sustained some damage, and the vehicle which struck the police car sustained considerable damage, Held said.
