Enfield Prepares for Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
A parade will be followed by a ceremony marking the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks on our country.

ENFIELD, CT — In less than two weeks, the 15th anniversary of one of the most horrendous days in American history will be commemorated in thousands of communities around the country, including Enfield.
On Sunday, Sept. 11, the annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony at the Enfield Fire Station No. 2 on Weymouth Road will be held. The event will begin at 4 p.m. with a parade, forming at Porter & Chester Institute and proceeding a half-mile down Weymouth Road to the fire station. The ceremony will follow in the memorial garden in front of the firehouse, adjacent to a pair of steel beams from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
All current and retired fire, police, EMS and military personnel in full class A dress uniforms are welcome to march. Those interested in participating should RSVP to Sue at 860-745-1878 by Sept. 9.

The public is invited to attend the event, which will be held rain or shine. Refreshments will be served at the fire station after the ceremony.
